hey guys i've been interested in buying vertical doors for a while now and im pretty set on getting them. theres just one problem...where to get them installed. i live in the lower part of ny (rockland county) and was wondering if any of you guys had them installed or know of a place that i can go to that you would feel comfortable working on yours...thanks alot.
You do know that they'll sag soon after you get them, they're extremely cheap in quality no matter what kit you get, and it's extremely hard to get the doors to close right, and you'll tear up your inner door trying to close them, correct? Sure, they look badass, but that's about it. Have you seen/opened and closed/talked to owners of these doors? Just do a little research before you drop $2k on this stuff.
i have them make sure the guy knows what he is doing. Y0u have
to cut your inner fenders and hope your kit comes with heavy duty shocks or you will have a problem it is a real pain in the rear but
it is a real eye catcher and is worth all the hassels that come
with it do it
Yes, I do know someone who has experience, and is as meticulous as you could ever find working on a car (in NJ, eight miles west of Manhattan). PM me when you get the chance, and we can talk about it. By the way, the GT factory kit is a very HIGH quality kit, and the best out there to date. Another forum member recently came up with a fool-proof closing mechanism that is easy to install as well, and completely alleviates alignment problems. Oh, and the GT factory kit has adjusters that can be changed at ANY time, so the door will never sag, and can go completely verticle if you choose.
