Went through a deep puddle, car stalled and chk-engine light came on...
I misjudged a puddle going into a bank parking lot yesterday. I have the vortex rammer, and as soon as my nose went into it the car stalled and a lot of smoke or steam came from under the hood. Tried to start it. No luck. Tried again, and it turned over and started, it was sputtering and wouldn't idle, I had to keep reving it to keep the car alive. Got back on the street asap an the car was misfiring a lot, and the rpms were jumping. Got on the highway and and got up to a decent speed switching gears close to 6000 rpm. It's seems the car is fine now and the Check Engine light didn't come on this morning, should I worry? Probably did about 150 miles since the incident and the car seems to be working fine.

You probably took in only a very small amount of water (fortunately for you). If she's running good after 150 miles, I wouldn't worry about it. I'd say you are one lucky person.

I'd say you may have escaped a major repair bill. Keep an eye on it, but by now it should be OK.

personally id say you're an idiot ..if your car stalls after nose diving into a large puddle of water .. DONT START IT BACK UP! .. especially with a vortex intake
you push it out of the puddle and hope that removing the airfilter and cleaning it out will solve the issue.
sorry to be so forthright but you're so lucky, you know no idea.
