Yes. I live out in the boonies. I hook up at 26,600. I called all the providers just last week to see if there is anything anyone could do for me. My only higher speed option is a satelite for $600 and $90/ month. Somebody help me.

Yes most people that live in rural areas still have to rely on dial up. DSL and Cable are not available to them and satellite is not a very good option.

Uhhh... yeah... uhhh... dial-up is my current home configuration...

so what? Most of my time spent here is at work...

Although I hear that AOL has raised their dial-up customer rate to encourage switching over to hi-speed access...

Prolly only got one rack in the corner of the server room for their handfull of 'die hard' dial-up customers...

I still use dial up at home. I haven't seen a reason to double my monthly bill.

As far as I know, I've got a lifetime of it ahead of me. Not only that, but my connection speed now is 26,600. It used to be a blazing 28,800. I do think AOL is putting us poor DU slobs in the back closet in hopes that those that can, do upgrade. I even have to have a long distance plan for my "local" dialup connection. Well, time to go swimmin' in the seement pond wif EllyMae-Life aint ALL bad.

T-1 at the office and dialup (50.2) at home. It is all we have available.

Thinking about Verizon Wireless but it is $60/mo.

Well, I just made the switch from dial up to ClearWire high speed wireless a couple days ago. $43.25 a month.

There is no way I would go back to dial up .
It's insane , I would probably the computer before the night is over .
I would pay the $ 90 a month for a satellite if all other options do not exist .
Dial up
Then again High speed is like sex, you wouldn't know that you can't live without it until you have it for the first time
