Default secondary battery cable purpose?

What is the smaller battery cable that connects to the negative battery post after the main cable?

Large ground goes to ground point 104 on the frame rail, smaller one goes to ground point 106 on right hand side of engine.

OK, thanks. What would happen if this cable wasn't connected? I noticed yesterday that the cable was completely pulled out of the cable end that was fastened to the battery. I have since reattached it but was wondering if this would be the cause of an electrical problem.

If it is the secondary ground cable we are talking about it could very well be the cause of electrical problems. Make sure both are attached on a corrosion free surface.

Thanks but I still don't understand its purpose etc. and any specific problems it may cause.

It is a ground cable. All ground cables are important in a plastic bodied car.
