I just gently close the hood then press the rear corner until it cliks then walk around to the other side and press down on that corner untill it clicks. I close the hatch the same way, I dont like to slam anything.

I agree. But found that pressing over the top of the latch works better. It's not all the way at the corner.

I just drop mine from about 6 inches up and it closes. It helps if you lubricate the latches.

Default closing hood

I used to drop mine from about 6". When I put the carbon fiber hood on it doesn't weigh enough to close itself so I do one side at a time by pushing down over the latch area.

This is what I do too. Takes a little longer, but it ensures the hood latches securely.

I press each side over the latch. Same with the rear hatch.

If the rubber bumpers at the rear of the hood are adjusted right, you can drop the hood from 10 to 12 inches and both sides should latch.

I used to shut one side at a time, but decided there was less stress on the hood to just drop it and let both sides latch at the same time.

When I got my car from the factory, if I dropped it, one side would latch but the other side wouldn't.. I adjusted the bumper down a little on the tight side, and now both sides latch perfectly every time.

If you have an oem hood...
...a finese drop from 4-6 inches will do...(latches lubed and the height adjusted properly...)

else...lower gently and press firmly over latch on each side of the hood...

...aftermarket hoods with a low tolerance...I recommend the latter...

...then slam the gears...

adjust the little rubber bumpers at the corners. I think it is a 12mm wrench. loosen the nut and turn the rubber bumper. I did mine a turn at a time until it worked perfect. Can drop it from 6 inches and it shuts perfect. took a little while to get it just right so the bumpers wernt too far down.
