Dealer is asking 27,000 for a 00 White FRC with 16,000 pampered miles and says it is in immaculate condition. Book value is 26,000 but he says it doesn't account for the time of year and such. My payments would be around 400 for 6 years. Is this too much to be paying?
HIi. It depends on how bad you want the car. I have a MY coupe with 21500 pampered miles and I think it is worth 26000. I would not go less. But that is just me. That car your looking at sounds like 24-25000 to me. But opinions are just that..... opinions. Good luck in your decision
This issue gets knocked around quite often and it boils down to this in my opinion. A 00 FRC can be had depending on mileage of course for 20-23K. Now the one you are looking at is basically a new car although 6 years old as far as model year goes.
I would ask myself this, am I going to drive the car a lot. If you are buying it to drive then the premium for the super low miles is probably not worth it. If you are buying it to look at and put on a 3 or 4 thousand miles a year then yes pay a little more.
Not 27K though, you can get a low mile 01 Z or a higher mile 02 for that kind of money.
It's about a thousand too high If they're willing to extend the warranty to 5 years and cost you nothing, then I would say go for it That would be worth to you about $1500 out of pocket. Make sure the car can be taken into any Chevy Dealer though for the repairs

Probably a little high - is that the dealer's bottom line price? If so, good idea about trying to get a warranty thrown in. If not, offer them less and see what they come back with.
From Corvette Magazine's "Fifth Generation, Approximate Values"... a 2000HT in good condition is 26,900, average is 22,500. Depreciation change in one year -10%. Food for thought.

FRCs are not coupes and they aren't Z06s. Coupes and Zs are as plentiful as the opinions on this Forum. Apples to oranges.
Arctic white FRCs, and especially Nassau Blue, were very low production and you sure won't see one on every street corner like so many other C5s. Too bad you didn't mention what options were on it
In many cases "book" doesn't mean squat when it comes to the FRC. It will only become harder to find low mile, low production FRCs as time goes on. That model was less than one percent of the production run.
Someone will buy it for 27K, maybe not you, but someone will.

If you like it buy it. NADA Retail $26,475.00. Trade In value $23,175.00. Should be some wiggle room to negotiate. This is alway so subjective, too many factors to give you a straight up answer. You only go around once, enjoy!
Price seems a little high...but what caught me was the 6-year loan thing. A 6 year loan on anything is insane is you ask me! Especially a car that is already 6-7 years old.

I was lucky to get a 2000 Nassau Blue with 16,500 on it almost 2 years ago. Dealer did not know what he had when he sold it for less than $27K. Had Corsas, X-pipe, and Vortex. Cajun 99 is right. I took the car to Eureka Springs the past 2 years. Everyone thought it was a Z06 that was not badged. Very few FRC's except as Z06, and no Nassau Blue color. Come to think of it, no White FRC's were there either. Work with the dealer cause he may not know what he has.

I would have laughed at him after he quoted me the price.
Yes thats too much. somewhere in the $22000 range would be better. About 8 months ago I paid $22500 for my 2000 a4 with 20,000 miles and every option available for that year. Those dealers are crazy.
