Parking Tickets
My girlfriend just got a parking ticket for parking in a private lot at my apartment complex. Now I know they can give one for parking in a handicapped spot but can they give them if they dont' belong to the complex? I have never seen a person get one before and the kind of truck and stuff aren't even correct. We have little stickers to distinguish whether we are with the complex or not but any way of fighting this?

When I used to live in apartments they always had "visitors" parking places, usually not under the carport or numbered. Usiually police don't give tickets in apartment complexes because it is private property. I have seen then give a ticket when someone complains, like illegally parking in a handicapped space.
I would talk to the management about this and get it resolved.

My apartment "citations" out by the dozens (parking for the Masters is getting bad and it's a few weeks away). Technically, they say they can't give a citiation and only a LEO can. There's something about tresspassing that they site. The other thing they do is tow the car. You got lucky, but if it's not from the police, throw it away and don't go out of your way to purposely pizz them off next time by parking in their lot.

You got off lucky. I had a dinner guest park in my designated spot Saturday night and I moved my truck to a visitors space. Apparently, my townhome HOA gave a local towing company the green light to tow away anybody who doesn't have a parking decal in their car, even if it's the designated spot, which I pay for!
Talk about a mad **** at 3:00 am!

If from the complex management, take the ticket to them and explain the situation. If they have visitor passes, get one for your g/f to have in the car.
