Might be a much longer lasting way to go. I checked on powdercoating mine, and if the shop was shooting that color with other parts, it would cost around $30. Otherwise, around $100.
You do know that sway bars flex???.... and that chrome will not... chances are the chrome will start to flake quickly
I was worried about that myself but I posted that question and I got the reply that at least one other member (Scratch) had done this without an issue. I was thinking about painting or powder coating but I could not come up with a color that I thought would go well with the AE red. I'll have to send it to a very good plater and see what they think.
Have had mine plated for 2 yrs now and looks like the day I got it. If you are concerned about the chrome chipping or flaking off (which I suppose it could as ET mentioned, the sway bar does flex) I would polish it. You can pretty much polish anything with the proper tools. It may not look exactly like chrome, but I'm sure it will be close. Best of luck.
