Ran across a 99 Coupe, A-4 with 49,000 miles, black on black with all the standard equipment, no other options. The only extra's are C-6 wheels along with the original wheels, and two tops, clear and solid. Second owner has maintenance records since he has owned it. Original owner had car serviced at Chevy dealership. F-1 Goodyears on front and back with 70% tread left. Owner is asking $22,300. KBB private seller price in good condition is $19,400. Corvette Magazine (April 2005) lists 99 Coupe pricing at $22,000 to $27,000 for average to good condition. I was thinking of offering $20,500 (taking in account for the extra roof and C-6 wheels), pending a mechanics inspection? Am I in the ball park? Any comments would be appreciated.

Throw 20,500 at him and if he says no just walk away.
I think your offer is in the ballpark, unless this is the car of your dreams... In which case you might want to consider a reasonable and inevitable counter offer.
