I think I ran into a good deal for a set of 4:10 gears installed. Anyone know what this would do for a fairly stock (B&B cat back, Twin cone air cleaner, and Predator perf tune) 04 A4. It came with the "performance gearing". What RPMs are you running on the freeway, and is it safe and economical for a daily driver? Any input would be greatly appreciated

That's WHOLE lot of gear for an A4. I think most A4 people go with 3.42's or 3.73 max.

My $.02

I have 4.10's on a 6spd. From what I have read, they will be too much for an A4. What most A4's are doing is 3.42's, maybe 3.73's and a torque converter. Check at DTE's website,(supporting vendor) they have a chart that shows RPM's at various speeds.

Unless you plan on doing some stall converter/tranny work.

I have 4.10's in my '69 Camaro, but that has a Muncie 4 speed tranny. Gas mileage really blows too ....

At 80mph you'll be at 3,000 rpms, it's really not that bad in a A4.
