i have a spec stage III. got it because I was planning for some serious HP but I ran out of the serious cash. with this clutch you have to be on the gas to go. I have learned to release it 60% of the time w/o chatter. I don't recommend this clutch for a daily driver. Mine isn't and the clutch is awesome when you get on it. just me .02
hope this helps
ok, for a 410 rwhp 380 tq daily driver - no drag strip, no road course, what is the best clutch that will hold, not wear out soon, not slip and not chatter? thanks

if you not going to add any more hp
you may like the z06 clutch
call corvettes of houston and talk to rick.
DONT DO IT!!!! buddy and i are in the process of of switching out our new stage 3's
im having a horrible vibration, and he is having a horrible noise.
dont take my word for it though.... go check out ls1tech. do a search for SPEC in the manual transmission section. tons of issues, many clutches failing with barely any miles on them.

hopefully your not talking LS6??? why do people keep recommending that clutch?? its KNOWN to have problems. 410rwhp will destroy the ls6 clutch. have you heard of the "sticky pedal"??? LS7 is still unknown.

I had the sticky clutch and mine wasn't a ls6 but my buddies z06 is sticky. That problem is not z06 specific. Thats when I changed out to the spec Stage III. I don't have any problems other than the chatter. Like a said, not good for a daily driver.
dont have any answers for you because im in the same boat! this SPEC is coming out, and still deciding whats going back in.
think i have it narrowed down to RAM HD. its like $600 for the kit with the flywheel. been doing some research on it, and it seems to have only great reviews.
it would be nice to try out something like the textralia, but cant justify spending that much money.

which clutch did you experience this with?? i know its not Z06 specific, but its with the LS1 & LS6 setups. im just saying if its a know problem, why would someone want to take the chance??

I'm don't drive mine much but I when I do, I drive it hard. No problems on my end. yes it chatters. Knowing what I know now I would have gone a different route last year. You really have to find a sweet spot to avoid the chatter, it can be done but just takes getting used to.
i need to shut up know, Murphy just left me a msg. Got an autocross this weekend......
My Spec chattered from day one and i drove it very easy for 1000 miles (easy to do as it is my daily driver)
I also had the clutch Fuze on me at the track - others have had this happen as well, and Spec does NOT stand behind their product.
I have heard that some have still experienced the "sticky" clutch with the LS7 clutch - my issue went away with the spec, and hoping it does not pop it's ugly head up again with the RPS. (I have installed the 02+z slave)

bottom line
yes it chatters
We have the Spec 3 in my hubby's 2001 Z06, but I don't have any issues with Chatter. It is definitely a clutch that GRIPS like no tomorrow. Probably the strongest I have ever driven, but man, the gas thing and release of the clutch are a pain in DAILY DRIVING traffic.
ok, for a 410 rwhp 380 tq daily driver - no drag strip, no road course, what is the best clutch that will hold, not wear out soon, not slip and not chatter? thanks
OK when you find it please let me know will ya!!! If it's out there I havent found it.
I ran the 3F and chattered like crazy. I switched to the spec 5 and it's been very driveable, no chatter. It lasted about a year.
so than what is the clutch i should use? who has the best prices? again 400 +- rwhp 380 tq daily driver not drag strip or road course
I have the LS7 clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. My vette puts out 500 rwtq & 450 rwhp. Just a little bit stiffer than stock. But hardly noticeable... I asked a couple reliable venders and speed shop owners and that is what they recommended
i did notice the the ls7 clutch set up is almost 15 lbs HEAVIER than the stock set up, this would equate to over 10 hp loss at the rear. this is the reason i would rather avoid going heavier.
