245/45ZR17 - Fronts
285/40ZR18 - Rears

by the way discounttiredirect has the Nitto NT 555 fronts on sale for 107$

thats $614 shipped for a set!

about ready to jump in but the last line on their page states:
Z-speed rated.

This tire is especially popular with drifting enthusiasts. For more information, visit the Discount Tire/America's Tire Drifting Team website.
It's probably popular with them because it doesn't cost as much to burn them up versus Goodyear or Michelin. I like 'em, and they do just fine in the rain. Until Goodyear builds a runflat that doesn't torture with a lousy ride and tons of noise I'll take my chances.

Default F1ds3

I just put a set of Goodyear F1DS3 tires on the wifes 04 TL and I could not believe the performance. I purchased these due to the Car and Driver test- these placed #1. I love them so much I will purchase them for the vette when the Runcraps are done.

I like the F1DS3 also, but ...well how to say...

I actually DONT want to buy tires right now. (lol)

i mean i bot some runfraps from a CF member 3 months ago
that 'had 10,000 miles on them' --aka 6/ or 7/32nds
---lol
that was 3,000 miles ago and im just about bald
(nothing but suburb driving and cruizing too....fast accells but nothing to write to to Car and Driver about if ya'll ar feelin me)

so... long story long.

i figured at the time, some partially worn run****es would last long enough for me to get my new shoes organised
{for me that was three different ideas - GenIIrunflats in C5 sizings on a C6 style rim, Imola Design 22's/MichellinPS, or the DS3's, on something, maybe Z06 rims}

for now, im thinking, if i spend $400-500 on used runflaps again (bad idea im thinking) i may as well spend $600-$700 on a set of something

and whats fairly decent? -- bang with not to many bucks

...which is where alex's post comes in handly. I was happy to hear of someone who, in a fairly short period of time had been thru the tires I myself had considered. (plus he has a snoops logo - cant hurt) so EnterKudos:Nitto555's

The new question in this essay then (and I must apologise for highjacking this thread really!) -- Neabs - are the tires Im quoting the ones your also backing? (vs the upmarket RII's that cost more (no doubt)?)

and Chicago - (love the band... ) dude, i hear ya, that may be exactly why they are popular - performance with sacrificial abilitiy (ie cheap)

thots?
