How much extra protection do these offer? I just ordered one last week from DTE as a precaution. The Nitto 555RII's went on and now I have some wheel hop. Is there anybody out there with huge H/P and sticky tires that has first hand experience w/ how good these are??????
There are quite a few threads/posts all over this board, past and present that display the positive outcome with it's use, which can easily be found with a search.
I ordered mine Monday. I will be putting in a clutch at the same time so I figured now is the time, with everything dropped down anyhow. Makes sense to me.

Big Time I have one too and IMO it will save your rear end, tranny and who knows how much else. It is best to be safe and this is in-expensive. You might as well do the out-put shafts too. All it takes is wheel hop once and you can break a shaft or case. I have been lucky so far as I have been getting bad hop, and IMO, my DTE brace and shafts have saved me. Better to hop and drive home with out a new best, than get towed

Nobody likes to search. We want the most up to date information. Hows the install? It looks to be pretty striaght forward.
I got one on mine as well. I also agree with other saying it saves the rear of the car. I spent 3800$ on the tranny, rear end, and output shafts and I would like to have it live as long as possible..
Both my stock C5Z06s were bullet-proof through a combined 500+ passes. Max 363 rwhp.
Stock tire launches 2600-3300 25-28 psi in the rears
BFG DR launches at 3500-4200 16-18 psi
ET Street Radial launches at 4500-5200 19-22 psi
(1) If you add more than 20-30 rwhp to the stock motor or
(2) your driving style produces wheel hop, which it should not, or
(3) you favor >5200 clutch-dump launches
Then hardening up the rear, to include hardened shafts and an DTE brace, is good insurance for precluding breakage whose costs will significantly exceed the hardened parts and their installation.
