Default Quick Help

Is the cupholder lid supposed to be spring operated like the ashtray? I seem to remember so...

Please reply quickly I'm supposed to take it in in an hour!

Mine does not have a spring. Don't use mine as a cup holder anyway, it is a cell phone holder.

Thanks for the replies. The reason I ask is I had the car in to the dealer on Monday and they really mucked it up... messed up a lot of things from my door sill to the vent to the dashboard itself. I thought perhaps they had also messed up the cup holder. I am 99% sure my old one had some amount of "spring" to it, simlar to the ashtray, but it's ok. I looked at it and it does indeed have a metal piece that acts as a spring, but I think since the trim piece is so new it needs some grease before it will "spring" like my old one did. I dropped it off this morning now let's just hope they fix more than they break this time around. Regardless, last time at the dealer for me, for EVER!!!

No, there's no spring in my so-called cupholder. It just flips open and closed. Why would there be a spring there anyway? To hold it open or keep it shut?
