The new shifter looks good - too bad you really had to work to get it installed. Your luck must be like mine - even what should be a simple job turns out to be more complicated than expected.
Demon keys are easy to remove IF you use a paint can lid opener like the free ones at Home Depot or Lowes. You hook the lip on the opener under one side of the demon key and press down slowly.
My demon key snapped in half and was so chewed up that I ended up just hacksawing my old shifter.
The thought crossed my mind. I was thinking I could spend a long time trying to dig this out or just hit it with the cutoff wheel and it would be off in about 5 seconds.

Wish I would have known this earlier. Sounds like the best way to get it out. Vise grips didnt work at all.
