Default Looking for a ZO6. Please Help.

Hello all fellow Corvette lovers. I'm new to the forum and I could use your help. I'm looking to purchase a 2001-2002 Corvette ZO6. Of Corse it has to be black. I'd prefer a 2001 because of the price which would allow me to add on further engine modifications for performance and horsepower which would give me over the 405hp found on later ZO6's anyways. I'd like to spend between $20-28,000 on the car. Do any of you think I'll find something for that price range in excellent condition? I've been looking around the net and all the 01' ZO6's that I've seen for around $21-23,000 have higher miles and are usually not the best condition. I guess I'm looking for opinions on what I can do and where I can look for "my ZO6" for that great price. Any ideas on websites? Or if any of you see anything for sale that you think I'd be interested in please let me know. I really appreciate the help. Thank you. James

if you are looking for the best price stay away from dealers, they mark them way up for what they get them for, try ebay, auto trader, i also may be selling my 2002 black zo6 and i am also located in connecticut, let me know if you are interested, 19k miles $32,000

I agree with ebay, at least you can get a wide range of prices and cars. I bought my 02 last month and i scoured ebay and other sites daily, there was a nice 01 with under 20k miles that I was watching that looked mint and sold for around 28. your in the ball park, spend the time be diligent and you will find something decent. I got an 02 tr with 9000 miles for $33 IT IS PERFECT! I LOVE IT! HAPPY BIRHTDAY TO ME!

What do you want to do with the car? If you are simply looking for horsepower, and want to have maxed money for mods, get a camaro. That would leave you more for bolt-ons and blowers and so forth. If you are interested in autox or tracking the car, get a corvette. In a straight line, I don't think vette or other matters a great deal.

Bottom line is that the z06 isn't just about a little more horsepower. It's cheaper to just buy a z than to turn another sort of corvette into one. My $0.02.
