Do i have the correct oil filter

i dont know guys, something wacky here, i bought the M1 - 107 Mobil Oil Filter w/ the filter wrench that goes on the end of a socket wrench - the fit is perfect.

oil is draining and i go to remove the current oil filter and the wrench that fits the new filter doesnt get a good bite on the current filter, leading me to believe that i may have the wrong one - any help -the car is up on ramps now. PS its a 2003 coupe

You got the right filter, the M1-107 is the correct number for the LS1.

(I prefer the K&N HP1007 though)

M1-107 is what i have on my '01....
But I agree, i needed to buy a different "socket" type attachment for it
