I've done a search and found there are a lot of headlight problems as far as getting stuck up and such. Last night this happened to me. The drivers side popped up but the passenger did not. Then I tried turning the lights on and off a few times and nothing happened, one stayed up and the other down. So I manually raised the passenger side so they are both up now. When I turned the lights off the drivers side went down but the passenger stayed up. I tried this a few more times and now they both just stay up. I have tried disconnecting the battery and that did not work. Now when I try and turn the lights on or off there are no sounds. I read in the posts everyone heard grinding type noises, with mine there is nothing. Threre is also no problem manually raising and lowering both sides, very smooth and not hard at all. And in case it matters the headlights turn on and off fine in both positions. So does anyone have any ideas or am I gonna have to bite the bullet and take her in? Any ideas are welcome and I thank you in advance.

Check the fuses make sure you haven't blown one. Also check the connectors. If you have a DVM - the connectors lie flat right behind the headlight on top of the fender - is there power going to the connectors? If yes - are the connectors all the way plugged together? Is there a lot of corrosion inside the connectors? If so - clean them out.
OK I found the problem. Behind the passanger headlight is a little black box that both the headlights plug into. The back edge of this box was partially opened. Water poured out of the thing when I took it off. I peeled off the back side of it and it was fried. SO now my question is what is this part called and what is the part number for it? Also does anyone know where I can get one? And supporting vendors carry this?

If thats the part that Eddie found on Ebay -that's the actuator that is attached to the passenger side headlight assembly. If you want a new one - you might consider trying Gene at Fred Beans or Bob at Fitchner Chevrolet. If you want to try a used one - Gene's Karshop might be another outlet. All three I mentioned are Forum supporting vendors.
