Ok, so I call the GM Customer Support to get an update on my car that was produced last Wednesday or Thursday. The girl checks with someone at "VOMS" at she comes back to tell me that my car is in testing stages for two-three weeks and that I should check back in a few weeks!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? At this point of the game...my car is probably on an ALLIED carrier in-transit to me...
There is another member that was told his car was BUILT on 8/9 and he got a call from his dealer that is had arrived on 8/13....
I read somewhere that GM sometimes puts a hold on cars after they are produced for quality checks. The person who took the first Museum delivery of an 01 Z06 got hit with this delay. On the other hand, I would have thought your vehicle status was on the POMS system and not on VOMS. Get a status event check from your dealer. One of the codes represents vehicle shipment.

Wow .. 2-3 weeks is one thorough test (joke). Some report good experience with the Customer Service folks, but so far they've seemed lame to me. I hope it's on a truck heading your way. At least you've got a real car (somewhere). I've still just got vapor.
Phil -- GM Customer Service SUCKS, big time. It's a total joke.
I am currently entering arbitration with GM regarding my oil consumption issue, and the GM Customer Service person in charge of GM's case sounds like he does not even have a high school education. He rarely speaks in complete sentences, never understands fully what is being said, and is essentially useless. No, he's not even good enough to be called "useless," since all he does is make things worse.
All I can say is -- GOOD LUCK! And just hope that your car doesn't consume oil, because if it does, you'll have to deal with a lame GM Service Rep like mine!
Phil,
I know it's hard to wait but the good news is that your car will receive the best possible quality check. I understand that they pull one off the line approximately every 1000 cars and go over everything with a fine tooth comb. Your car will have a few additional miles but you'll know everything is right.
By the way, GM Customer Service has always treated fine.
That means they run it hard for a couple weeks, loaning it out to plant employees....they try hard to break something...but if it does they fix it, then you get it. Then they connect the odometer and ship it. You don't have to break it in now.
They don't loan it out to plant employees - that's plain :bs. Corvette engineers will carefully supervise any testing. The car will likely have less than 100 miles on the clock when you get it. The wait is bad but overall this is a good thing - lots of us would volunteer for a thorough QC.
