Can anyone tell me how to remove the rear black plastic license plate frame on a 2000 C5?
I know that it sounds pretty elementary but I just bought the car and I was trying to install the new plate on the rear and the black plastic frame did not want to budge. It was cold out and I was afraid that I would break it. Does it just snap into place?
Thanks for your help!
depress the tabs on the side of the frame with a large screwdriver. As you depress the tabs you can pry the frame back slowly to remove it. Be careful you can break the tabs if you are to agressive.

Look at the inside of both sides and you will see two slots. Push a screwdriver blade into the slots to slightly move the tabs that lock the surround in position. You may need to work from top to bottom, pulling out at the same time. Once you have one side loose, the other side will just pull out.
OOPS! It looks like we were typing at the same time...

Just did mine a couple of weeks when I replace the black frame. Once you have one side, the other side will pull out with a little effort. You just have to "release" those tabs on the sides.
