i need to replace my front brakes fast! im looking for something AT LEAST as good as the stock brakes, AND rotors. i dont drag, or autoX, just daily driving. any suggestions?
i tried the search but didnt really come up with much, its a 2002 Z06. im looking for the cheapest route right now, since i's be broke.
Ceramic at Brakes Plus. No dust or squeaking. Make sure to tell them that YOU will take it for the test drive, not one of their techs. Then be sure to record the odometer so they know you're serious.
You can get the Delco Dura-whatever they're called cross-drilled rotors for around $100/pr and Delco ceramic pads for another $50. Looks great and virtually NO dust. Easy to do, too.

oh yea, are the regular c5 and the c5 z06 brakes the same size? pad and rotor? because im looking at some of the vendors websites, and they just list by year, no difference for z06 or not. thanks
Yes the rotors and pads are the same size. The Z06 pads are just more agressive. If you're broke listen to FasterIsBetter. NAPA rotors are cheap and work fine for about $25/ea. Get their cheap pads to get by for $35/set. The pads will not stop as good as the Z06 pads. You said cheap and you were broke.
If you want the same as OEM braking then get the Z06 OEM front pads from Gene at Fred Beans for about $120/set shipped.
It's an easy job and shouldn't take more than a couple of hours start to finish.

Bob,
GM p/n88926732 and 88926731 are for the drilled/slotted front rotors and p/n 88909667 for the ceramic pads. I got mine from GMpartsdirect.com for around $200 shipped total.
I'm running Power Slot slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads. They work very well on the street and I've done 1 DE with them and they held up fine. I bought them through Tire Rack and got a pretty decent price. However, they were in an entirely different price range (more expensive) than the replacement rotors at Autozone, Napa, etc. Depending on how tight or how flexible your budget is, you might consider the PS rotors & Hawk pads as an option.
