Default What's With the Vette?

OK, so I've had my C5 for a while now:

I still get a HUGE grin after driving it.

Every drive I take in it is too short (get sorta bummed as I pull near my drive).

3-4 times per day, I wander into the garage and just stare at it. Sometimes I just have to sit in it and change gears a few times.

After driving, I wipe any dirt/oil/whatever that dropped on the body.

I lean into it (vert) just to smell the leather.

When I show it to someone, I don't give the option to NOT get in and get a ride. I, of course, scare 'em with a few speed blasts.

It's sorta like the first weeks of hanging out with a super-hot, cool chick. Just can't get enough of it and I'm grinning a mile wide.

WTF is wrong with me?? It's only a car...it's not even considered an exotic. I don't get it.

I'm being serious.

Does anyone else experience this?

thanks buddy for posting. I thought I was the only one. I started to worry, I guess it is normal and I am being dead serious too.
Whenever I feel bad I just have to take the vette for a ride, and I am fine

I have had mine now for 2 months and I can't stop staring at it. I will be in the family room and want to go on line. So I trot off to the office and I have to go by the laundry room, which has the door to the garage and I will turn the light on just to look at it for a couple of secs.

I am always wiping the dust off with my micro fiber towels. I have been in one way or another detailing the car ever since I got it. Doing small sections at a time taking the fine swirl marks out.

If my wife can't find me in the house, she pops her head in the garage. "I knew this is where you would be."

Yes, it is only a car, but what a car!!!

Well, it's late as I am writing this and I better get to bed, but I am going out to the garage and take another look at my "black beauty".

It's more than just a CAR. Now go straight to the garage and appologize.

It's a long time dream for some folks including myself. I'll catch myself checking out the car when I'm in the garage and I've had mine for about a year and a half.

Enjoy the fever.

You forgot the part about turning around to look at it in a parking lot as you are walking away. You're not alone, It's a disease that I hope I never find a cure for.

Owning a Vette had been a dream of mine for over 20 years before I was in a position to be able to do it.

I've had her for over 3 years and it is still a thrill to see her in MY garage.

Trust me, you're not alone. Mine is sitting out in the garage with the car cover over it and I find myself going out every now and then and lifting the cover at one corner just to get a peek at her.

Don't forget having to drive by every business you can find with glass windows to see how you look driving it!

Picture this...World of Wheels, 1982. I saw a shark body covered in flames and went nuts. Parts of me still see that shark in every Vette I see.

Fast forward to present day...I have a BIG dog which means the trashcan is in the garage. I have to be the ONLY person who enjoys taking out the trask. It gives me an excuse to step out in the garage and behold the beauty of a LeMans Blue paintjob over some fenders. I may not drive mine very often but I try to enjoy it every time I get the chance (even sitting still).

You are not alone, man

Cassidy
