So with my car being up on blocks since January when I got it I did a few mods, one of them lowering on stock bolts.
Then I decided to get the ACI front spoiler and just put that on about a 2 weeks ago.
Last weekend I lowered the car down off the with a couple of 2X4's under the front wheels to make sure the jack had enough room to slide out and............
Well the jack did come out and I backed off of the 2X4's and the front spoiler was approx 3" off of the ground!!!
Needless to say I could not get out of my driveway with it this low, not to mention the concerns of the turbo oil return lines being that low under the car so me being the whimp I am I raised it back to stock height! I never expected it to drop that much and must say it looks better at stock height as it looked silly IMO with the front lip that close to the ground. Looked like I was the type that would own the mini truck slammed!!
I could not get out of my driveway either if I lowered mine
besides it would be even harder to get out of the car as well when lowered lower than it already is
Roads and driveways, etc. here in the North Jersey area are just not to friendly to the Vette as it is, so lowering it here would make it almost impossible to drive without a planned route to anywhere I wanted to go.
Either way, I am with most and believe it does look better being lowered. It is just not practical for me.
Hey Tony saw your post I haven't been to Calgary in years cool to see there are some vettes up there. I grew up in N Wash lots of 4X4's not many vettes and drop that thing back down the C5's look so much better an inch or two lower A.
Another vote for "like the lowered look, but totally impractical for me". I need to make some changes at the bottom of my driveway to keep from scraping in and out, but the city won't let me change the sidewalk. I have learned a way to pull into the driveway without scraping, but backing out is still a problem.
Most driveways and some parking lots are bad for a car with stock height, I can't imagine lowering one then putting someting on the front that lower than stock height-your asking for trouble-doubt you'd have it out for more than a couple of weeks without scraping or tearing it up.

There are some pretty steep driveways in Calgary. I lived there for 10 years before moving south, and I could never have had a lowered car with the steepness of our driveway.
How's the weather up there? Every time I start to miss the city our friends tell us how it snowed in September and I miss it a little less.
I'm from Pennnsylvania...and our roads are BADDER than your roads, any day, no matter where you are from.
No way I could consider going lower. Just scraped again yesterday on the way home. Makes me shudder everytime it happens, even though I know it's probably not doing any serious damage.

Well with all the money being pumped into the economy up here in Alberta these days with the oil industry booming there are quite a few nice cars running around. I know Shaganappi Chevy near me has sold 3 or 4 Z06’s. Not to mention all the macked out Alberta sports cars (AKA 4X4 Trucks! lol) I see your in California, I used to live in San Diego myself when I was younger.

Bahhhh we had a pretty mild winter this year actually, a fair bit of snow this month though, heck even had a green Christmas!! Not to mention we get a fair bit of sunshine, I will take it being sunny and 20 degrees colder than rain such as Vancouver.
Yup it was the driveways that had me worried, sometimes when the roads are busy you cant always take that angle you would like as well………so needless to say Chaase was correct I am a Wimp!! lol But the front of my car will like me for it, and like most of you eluded too it is more practical this way, with it lowered I liked the way it looked from the sides just not the front being that low with the lower lip on.
If I lowered mine, I could get out of the driveway with no problems. I just couldn't get out of the neighborhood, since I have to go over 4 speed bumps on the street I live on.
