[Updated Pics]....I installed my ACI Chin Spoiler today.
I've been wanting one of these for all most as long as I've had the car ~ about one and a half years.
The spoiler was Previously Enjoyed.
I had to hand sand about 90% of the spoiler due to the compound curves. I filled some scrape marks and sanded it down. The spoiler was primered then sanded smooth. I filled a couple more nicks and sanded it down again. The spoiler was painted this morning before lunch and I brought it home around 1400 for installation.
The installation of the spoiler, including building the ramps took about four hours including breaks.
First, I had to build a set of ramps. As I understand it, the jack would not fit under the nose once the spoiler was in place. After the project was done and the car was on the ground, I measured the clearance from the ground to the bottom of the spoiler in the center. There is about 4.5 inches of clearance. I'm sure this will decrease once the car settles.
I'll try to update tomorrow with some better pics in the daylight.
All in all it was a fun project. I'm glad that part is over with now.
Here is the spoiler after initial sanding.
Here are my $3.00 ramps. I got the four foot pieces from the cut bin at Home Depot. Cost was fifty-one (51) cents each.
Spoiler on the bench.
I wanted the ramps to be long enough so there was no chance of catching the spoiler.
Tire stop and side view of the "before".
Front view - all lined up.
Side view after spoiler installation.
Really has a more aggresive look now.

Look on page three for a couple of day-time pictures.

Wow, your vette is looking sharper by the day, Jim! You going to IMQUIK's mod party? I am going to see if I can swing by and check out that chain spoiler of yours

i sure do like that look. i wonder if i could get in and out of my driveway. i scrape hard when i go into the garage. my driveway slopes down toward the house from the road. do they clear what the old chin spoilers used to hit???
mine hits right here where the driveway flattens out to enter the garage

I moved it from one side of the garage where I did the install to the normal parking place you see in the last pictures. I backed in because I usually scrape when I pull straight in. My drive slopes some too. I will try to pull in nose first tomorrow in the day light. I understand the sides of the spoiler do not hang as low as the stock skirts, but with the extended nose, I'm not sure what will happen.
