I know this isnt a great story or nething but tonight it was finally nice enough to get the vettes out and go for a ride with my dad. He has had his 67 since before i was born and i just got my 02 zo6 this past january i have pictures of me and him at bloomington gold goin all the way back to when i was 2 , i am 20 now and havent missed one since. ever since i was little i always told myself one day i would have my own vette and now that i do i couldnt think of any better person to enjoy it with that my dad
Your a lucky guy to have a vet at age 20,especially a z06. I was 27 with my first. It's nice that you can cruise with your dad in two nice vets;good for you and drive safe but have fun doing it.
You are also lucky to have your Dad as what sounds like a friend. Enjoy both the car AND your DAD while you have them! Great story - glad to hear something from a young person that is "uplifting" on here for a change !

I hope I impact my son's life the way he has yours with positive good times!
Good story. Just thought about that same relationship with my 11 year old son in about 10 years. That would be real cool. Dreams like that coming true is what life's about
I good to hear you & your dad can hang out like that. My Dad wasn't just my father ... he was my best friend too! Not a day goes by that I don't think about him and he left this earth over 15 years ago. Enjoy each and every day.
You guys are pretty lucky. My dad and I, for what its worth, have a terrible relationship. He spent little to no time with me when I was younger. We fought all the time during my formative teenage years, both him and I have put ours fists through the wall in the living room a couple times, mainly in my mid-late teens. Everything I do as an adult, he always seems to take issue with, even though it doesn't involve him at all. Buying the Vette is one of those things. My mother thinks it's jealousy, because he's old and can't afford one, while I'm young and can.
In a way, my father's negative behavior has had a positive effect on me, in how I'm going to bring up my family. I'm definitely going to spend lots of quality time with my kids, and definitely get them involved in cars and motorsports.
That's awesome. My dad's been a huge influence on me over the last 10 years or so. As far as cars, career, life, etc. He's always had cool cars. Camaro's, Vettes, Chargers, just to name a few. So i followed in his foot steps, with cars and work. We both sell cars at the same dealership, and my little brother started several months ago. It's the best. Someday i hope to own a Harley so we can ride together. Since he's not into vettes that much anymore! But that's okay, i've forgiven him.
Last weekend I was under the hood of my C5 and was getting pretty aggrevated. I looked up and seen my 10yr old son holding the light for me. All is good.

Your son is on the right track. Wish my dad would have been around for me to do that for. He's owned 14 corvettes from 58' to 96' and I just bought my first 01' C5. He's my best friend, and the only family member I consider myself close to. It's just a shame he's always gone flying(corporate pilot). I love him to death and it kills me knowing his work has kept us from having so many great memories together. Hopefully he can retire soon so we can take our vettes out and do what we've been wanting to do for many years.
You guys are lucky with your stories. I'd give anything to have that kind of time with my dad. He's the world to me.
