Default ????!!! xm commander install help

I have a 2003 with a factory cd changer in the trunk. I'm trying to do the xm commander ashtray mod but cannot find the CD changer wiring harness anywhere on the passengers side so that i can use the P.I.E.GM10-AUX. Does anyone have any pics they can share. I hate to put the car back together without this mod being done and I have spent over two hours looking for this mysterty cable??? I'm at a loss..

..the cable plugs in at the bottom of the changer...unplug the cable from changer and just plug your harness into that........

Does it plug in to the changer in the trunk> I thought it was in the passengers side footwell by the fuse panel??

the gm AUX box plugs into the changer harness in the trunk.
you cannot plug the connectors in the footwell into the GM AUX box, they won't fit...

Thanks both of yu now one more queston: I have an xmcommader I have it mouted in the ashtray I can hardwire power from the same place in the footwell as my Valantine 1 as it is hard wired.
Big question where do the other components of the XM commander go:
in the trunk? I'm still confused and I have serched this forum on this subject for weeks??

Can you give me the install procedure in a nutshell?

did you get the $3.00 a month deal from XM?

I don't know where you took power for your V1, but probably.
when I had a two piece satellite radio, I had mounted my receiver in the trunk where the CD Changer was mounted, it was also easier to interface the audio out from the receiver into the GM AUX box that I had connected to the changer harness.

I now have upgraded to the starmate replay reciever, it's just as small as my old control head from my two piece audiovox sirius reciever, but it's only one piece!

Hey Catfish,

QuikZilver did a great write up of the procedure. Go to the Audio/Electronics section of the forum, click on the "C5 and General Audio FAQ" on the sticky at the top and then scroll down to the second post in the FAQ. You can get to the FAQ directly here: C5 Audio FAQ

His install (and mine) didn't have a CD changer, but it sounds like you figured that out.

Like QuikZilver, I stuffed the tuner and extra wire up in the passenger side dash area.

Good luck!
