Hellow fellow corvette fans,
I came across this forum a few days ago and i think its great.i have been a vette fan for a long time now.my first one was a 94-LT1, then i sold that one for my 02 C5.Its speedway white with black int and i just put 7k on it.i love the car but i have only one issue with it and its piston slap.when i first start it i get a ticking sound for about 6 min then it goes away.
how many of you C5 owners have this problem and are you going to have it corrected??? thanks again for having me aboard :
Welcome Had the piston slap in my 2001, traded for 2004 and the slap went away . I don't think it's any thing to worry about, others will answer with more detailed info.
thankyou all for responding, i think im going to take it to the dealer just to be safe and then take it from there.my GMPP expires in OCT however i plan on renewing it
Piston slap is normal unfortunately, nothing to worry about, just make sure you have oil in it and dont bang on it while its heating up and you will be just fine.
