Does anyone know the proper offset for a stock C5 front and rear wheel? My source is telling me 56mm front and 57mm rear but I want to be sure. I know there are some folks on here that can tell me for sure. Thanks in advance.
Note as soon as you change the width of the wheel, these offset numbers become somewhat useless. Meaning an 11" wheel should not have the same offset as a 9" wheel.
The 56 and 57mm offsets you mentioned will be just fine if they are stock width (or close) wheels....the stock C5 wheels were too "tucked in" anyways, there's quite a bit of wiggle room there to push them out more, which is what less offset will do.
If you have a specific wheel size in mind, post it, I can tell you exactly how it will fit the car.

I am using 17X8.5 in front and 18X9.5 in rear. I think the offsets are going to be 56 and 57 but I am still checking with the wheel guy. Thanks for the input.

If that's the case, you'll have no problem whatsoever.
Offset becomes critical when pushing the width envelope, but you aren't doing that.
As I steted before, with stock width wheels, there's lots of room to play with, and a slightly lesser offset will actually look better on the car.

I looking at new 2000 thin spokes 17x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rears on a 2000 C5 Vert. I want to get new tires 275/40/17 front and 315/35/18 rears. I know the diam. will be ok compared to stock.
I don't know the proper offset to have? Will the rears stick out past the fenders, Look strainge? Thanks, Mark

You don't have a lot of choice if you're buying thin spoke repro wheels..as they are probably made in the Z06 offsets (offset specs posted above), which will fit the car fine and not stick out.
Congrats on finding the record update thread. To answer your question you can fit the 275's on 18x9.5 rims. However you would be better suited to find 275x35/18 tire, their diameter is 25.6" vs 27.7" for the 45 aspect ratio. otherwise you will have another 1/2" fender clearance above the wheels showing----the 4x4 look

I am looking at buying these rims, I already have tires from previous 18" rims. The catch to the rear is that I have added the Z06 air duct work to my Base model 2002 vette. Any issues in rubbing in the rear on the air ducts? I believe my previous rims are 18x9.5, they do not rub. I will have to check for the offset on those.
Front 245-40-18 with a 18x9.5 rim with a 56 offset
Rear 285-35-18 with a 18x10.5 rim with a 56 offset

Basically stock Z06 widths and offset, although the front rim is an inch taller, but should have no issues with rubbing.
The fronts are pretty much the same as what I currently have. It's the 18x10.5 in the rear that has me wondering.
I have the real Z06 ducts on my 04 convertible and have C6 19x10 rims using a 20mm spacer. The offset becomes similar to what you are proposing. The rim is half inch wider so the outside of the time would be 1/4 inch closer to the ducts. I have about an inch or so clearance between the wheel and the duct. So I think it would fit.
