I had put in the z06 shifter and the neutral wasn't there...it was just very loose and would not stay in the middle...Also wouldn't shift into 1st/2nd...it would start out in third...
So....what I didn was keep the base of the stock shifter and put in just the bolt and **** into the old base and it worked fine...
Did I do something wrong for it not to work with the Z06 base..
Thanks,
Tony
I ran into a similar problem on my buddy's C6 Shifter in his C5. You need to place the car in neutral and install the shifter with the pin in place. This lines up the play in the shifter to the tranny. Or, line up the new shifter and the same bolt position as the old one. There seems to be some play and if the bolts are not put in the same place, you experience just what you did.
