I'm looking at buying a C5 and have came across two that seem to be unusual color combos. Both are very low milage and in mint condition. Can anyone tell me how unusual a "2003 Coupe Millenium Yellow with Torch Red interior" is and the same question for a "2001 Pewter Metallic with Torch Red interior"? Thanks in advance.

They are both very rare. You can guess why.
The yellow and red is the Ronald McDonald Special edition. Does the interior smell like ketchup - that was an option with that combination. It also runs better when french fry oil is added at a rate of 3 oz. per gallon - but only McDonalds oil, Burger King or Wendys will really mess up the engine.
Don't know about the pewter and red?
You will probably never get a ticket because when the cop gets next to the driver's window he won't be able to write if he is laughing.
Just kidding - lets see what everyone else thinks.

Only 6% of all the 2003's had the red/black interior. I'd bet very few of them were Millenium Yellow, as it was not one of the recommended color combinations, meaning it was available but not "suggested" by Chevrolet.
The cars are really not worth more with this combination - maybe less if you consider some don't care for the red interior. The real issue comes down to whether you like it or not!
Yellow and red sounds like it would look like poo. not sure about pewter and red. My '98 is a color combination I haven't seen before Sebring Silver and Firethorn (maroon)/Black

I totally agree on the Ronald McDonald combo. Fugly.
I personally think the Pewter/red combo would look hot. If you buy the car and decide you don't like the red, send me a PM and I'll swap you my black interior. I would love to have a red interior on my Quicksilver '02. Silver paint with red interiors are a classic sports car combo that dates back several decades. Maybe not the best with Pewter, but awesome with silver.
To both!!! Before I purchased my MY2000Vert w/Black interior and black vert top, I had seen a Millenium Yellow with red interior and it just didn't do it for me! Millenium Yellow and Tan? Ewww! Who picked those colors? No offence to anyone who has either of these but

I see everyone is jumping on the band wagon to bad mouth that combination. I have a good firend that has that combination (in fact he was the very 1st one to order it, they shut the line down for 20 mins. to confirm the order, that is how few there are) , and while perhaps not for everyone, the reaction at car shows is good and they love it, but MOST importantly ......if you like it..... GET IT, no its not like everyone else's and that is what will make it extra special to you. PS SLIPPEN loosen up, the combination you got is a dime a dozen

"If they shut the line down for 20 mins " which I don't believe, and you have no way to prove, it was only done because they were all laughing so hard, they couldn't work!
It gets a reaction at car shows, I'm sure. People drive slowly by train wrecks too, but that doesn't mean people like them.
As far as black and yellow being a common combination, that's because most people have good taste, and can tell what looks good together. Of course, a certain percentage of the population in color blind...

No they shut the line down until everyone stopped laughing and regained their composure. Its not safe to assemble cars when your busting a gut laughing.

Honestly, why do you think they are so rare? If this is the last car you will ever own and you don't plan to ever sell it and you like it - buy it. But understand going in that the resale market will be very small.
Some cars are rare and valuable because of very short production runs. Others are rare because no one ever bought them in the first place. Think about it.
Here is pictures......I'm working on pictures showing the interior better BUT you can see the red in these. The yellow/red combo sounds bad but really looks good, in fact both do.

Pewter and red combo would look very good - I have a mod red interior in mine.
The yellow and red is not a common combination, but I have seen a few and to me they look pretty good. If the color combination of either one really strikes your fancy, then go for it. You're the only one you have to please.
O.K. it took me about 10 full minutes to stop laughing my azz off, but I have now finally gained my composure back.
The real question is how low can you get them to go on one of these beauties? I say this because the outside colors are great colors. You could always change out the seats and carpet and sell them on ebay or CF site. They have low miles and sound and look in mint condition so see what you can wheel and deal for a reasonable price.
Oh and by the way, the negotiations totally go in your favor. Once you find they're bottom amount they'll accept, then you bring out your fire powering leverage: "Who in the world is going to give you top dollar for a Ronald McDonald mobile with lettuce, pickles and special sauce on a sesame seed bun? At that point, You'll have him eating out of the palm of your hand (no pun inteneded)
