I would ordinarily say no... But since you can (and should) disable the airbag for the passenger seat, that might indicate that it would be okay. Don't do so on my account, though.

my '02 has an airbag shut off switch, and I take one of my two kids all the time! Frankly, as much as I wanted a vette, is was one of the features that sealed the deal.....

ok, thanks guys. i dont know if my vette has an airbag disable. i will need to look, and no i WOULD NEVER put a childseat in a car with the air bag enabled. he loves the vette and i thought i would surprise him (he's three) and take him and pick him up from day care in the vette.

Sounds like fun. Just don't get distracted by the giggles and peels of laughter from the front seat and keep your eyes on the road.
The switch to disable the passenger airbag is in the glove box. An indicator light just forward of the center colsole arm rest will give you assurance that the airbag is off when it is lit up. I don't know if earlier C5's have the pass. bag lockout or not. My '02 does.

OMG Read the "Airbag Warning" on the visor .... it clearly says the back seat is the safest place for children.

I turn my airbag off too and I have had my 1 year old in his car seat a few times, it is so cool to see him smile as the window brushes over his face and hair as we cruise with the top out.

You can get the airbag off switch for a midyear 2000 and prior. They came after midyear 2000. As long as the airbag is off it is safe for kids under 7.

My '03 has a child seat icon which indicates I can ...if one ever finds it's way home

As long as the car has a passenger side air bag cutoff switch, it will be fine to take the kid in the car. Bet he will have a great time in the car.

my kids are a bit more grown up now, have to use a booster seat rather than a child seat (Tennessee law for kids 4 to 9 ) , but my Vette does not have the passenger disable switch , so no booster seat in the Vette , they sit in the seat and buckle up !
