Default Need some help with mods!

I've always enjoyed the advice on this forum, so now, I'm stuck and really need some help.

Got about $2grand for mods. What would bring the biggest smiles?Headers or 4:10 gears? My car is a 2002 coupe MN6, basically stock except for blackwing, Borla Stingers and Bassani x-pipe. I know if I get headers, I'll need a tune, and if I get gears, I'll probably pop for a Ripper shifter and new ****. Any other ideas? Don't want to go h/c just yet - still a rookie when it comes to handling this car. But damn, this is fun!

I'd say to get some Longtubes and a tune.

Thanks folks for the replies.
I'm glad you voted for headers, 'cause that's the way I'm kinda right now. But I am worried about cabin noise. If anyone has experience with Stingers and headers, how much louder do you think it would get over just Stingers 20%? 30%? 50%? Thanks!

I'd go with headers, a decent set with hi-flow cats will run you around 1,500 although since you already have an X-pipe you might get em a bit cheaper.. go with LG's, Dynatech, Kooks, Stainless Works these are all good brands. Install will run you about 300-400. You don't have to get a tune with headers, sure it will help, but unless you have to pass emissions, you'll be fine without it. A tune will run you about 500 and if you are planning on doing heads/cam later in the future you might as well wait..you'll need a tune then anyway. I got headers last year and have not tuned the car yet, cuz I Knew I would do heads/cam later

Gears are great, but traction becomes an issue with 410's if you plan on keeping the stock run crap tires.

Happy modding

At idle, it will be fine.. but get on the throttle and be prepared There will be a lot of noise in the cabin..not crazy loud, but definitley a good bit louder than you are now. My advice for you would be to try and find someone locally with headers and Stingers and listen to the car inside and out. Headers will really wake the car up

Thanks FrankTank for the advice.
I live in Illinois (Batavia) so you know emissions is going to be an issue. I'll look for someone locally who has this setup and take a listen. It's getting a little loud already, so I'm afraid I may have to swap out the Stingers for Corsa Touring or Z06 Ti's. More $$$'s!!
By the way, I clicked open your pics. You've got 'er really lookin' good! Nice headers, and I love those wheels.
