Default Cut out the console?

Has anyone out there looked to see what is under the console? There is absolutely no room in there. My '86 has twice the room. Wonder if you could cut it out and replace it with a handmade tray? Anybody been in there?

yep, directly under the center console in the torque tunnel... You can't create a new console unless you go up!

Default cut out the console?

I'v been under there, if you have a vert the waterfall is bolted into or with the console. nothing else under there except carpet. the front of the console mounts into the dash area. i quit after that, started to get real tricky for me. I dropped my pocket leo badge down and behind the ash tray and I was trying to recover it. I would think having the armrest would be better then a tray, besides the console holds some of that heat in. just my nickel.
