Best of luck my BROTHER Z06 MAN!!!!

It is killing me not making passes as it has all come together, and I just need to drive it :o I did drive it to the track last weekend to see how it fealt on the street on the way over and wow, this is a bigger change than it was from real streets to drag radials. Very loose on top but a much better transfer. I will do 1.4s on the short time, if not low 1.4s. My 390s are being rebuilt so hopefully, 2 more weeks untill I am in the 10s. Thanks Jim (and others) off to the beach

[/QUOTE]Your welcome BROTHER DAVE and best of luck to you!!
One point of major concern is i thought you had the compete ccw drag package on with the bias ply skinnines in front, but realize that you have radials in front!! Brother man, this is why the car is SO LOOSSE on top as it is dangerous to run the bias ply et street rubber in back with the radials in front, as the bias ply and radial tire will fight each other and cause the car to get very squirrelly on the top end.
Been there and done that and never again!! THere have been more than a few guys who have lost it and kissed the wall at high speeds b/c of this situation of running a bias ply street slick in back and a full radial tire in front.
You have a very fast car my friend and need to minimize your risk, therefore i URGE you to simply borrow or buy somebody's bias ply ccw skinnies to run in front as this will make the car 100% stable and safer for 125mph blasts down the 1320. Post up, and i am sure you will get a few enthusiasts in your area who will let you borrow their bias ply skinnines and better yet, since your into drag racing, would be worth the investment to pick up your own set. Want to see you keep things safe for yourself and your beatiful car my friend!!!
ps-I just took a closer look at your sig and it looks like you will be running skinnines in front at the dragstrip, correct?
If yes, smart move Brother very smart!!

Yes Jim, slicks n skinnies for the track. I have not made a pass in them yet. I did drive to the track with them on to see how a 15 mile road trip would be... I did open it up to see what it would feal like in the traps and yes, it is vague and loose. IMO it is not as big a delta going from ET ST radials out back and street tires (mich PS on OEM size CCW) to full blown drag pack as it was going from ECSTA V700s on chrome zs and BFG DRs on wagon wheels. That was a big change and I thought I had lost the rear end or somthing as it was numb out back at speed. The biggest change was the weight transfer IMO. I have not launched it yet, but I did try a few easy goes (had the stock 342 back in, with oem shafts, no brace). I hope to go low 1.4s with the new pack, and in the 10s @ 124.
The car was hopping and spinning or bogging so bad after the HC swap, I never got a good pass in. The 390s made it worse as it goes thru 1st so quick, the 1-2 shift is on me before I could adjust my brain to it. I bumped back the shift light to 6500 as the tach was 500 off
When I did get a decent launch I would kiss the limiter bad and blow the 1-2 shift. It did several low 1.5 60s on the 390s on easy launches (drove from NC to SC for the national event) as I had not boguht the new truck yet to haul it. Heck it was still going 11.4 @ 124 with spinning 60s, and crap that looks like the same best in the sig block:o no that one was a pissed off hot lap, spun thru first stayed in it and nailed 1-2 and the car lost a few MPH on top as it was hot...The 390s are in and ready to go, but I had an idle issue, which was caused by me cracking the bottom of the fast, with me over torqing it... damn I suck!
It is no hurry as my foot is still messed up and I do not think I could launch the car right now anyways but man it is killing me. Looks like I will hot the track Sunday with the truck and call out some rice!!!
Heck I have to see if the bolt patern is the same and maybe I will try the et streets on a bone stock ram 1500 and see if I can get it in the 14s:o sighs damn I miss my car but on a good note, I am off to Augusta soon and I will be in the challange there ASAP. I am sure I can braket race it shifting @ 6500, launching @ 4500 and run 11.5s all day... well, we shall see.
Thanks my brothers and see you soon!!!
Dave

Hows the foot & Sarah

No passes yet
New 390s are in but I broke my intake, the bottom of it... see what happens when I try and turn my own wrenches? Jeff has got it under control and no worries. The foot still sucks, bleeds and I am in a soft shoe for another month. Sara is doing fine and we just wish we had time to make it out to the CI. Next year for sure! Tell Julie we said hi.
