I had a 2000 coupe that did the same thing when I got it back from the dealer.........I WENT BY THE DIP STICK ..........and after a few drives it finally went away. I wouldn't go over the full mark unless you race it and then I think it's only 1/2 qt.

happend to me
The same thing happend to me soon after I bought my 2k coupe. So I went to the dealer got an oil change and told them the problem. They charged me an arm and a leg then told me to reset the gauge, there's no problem. So less than two months later it happened again. 
Less than 1k miles driven. Instead of going back to the idiots 
I check the forum and want do you know problem solved. The previous owner did as I did and took to the dealer who only put 5quarts in when according to some of the members our cars can hold up to 7. One guy with two filter says he puts in 9. Needless to say I have not had that warning pop since. Thanks forum!
