Default Dang Leak!!

Hi folks, when i went to swap discs in my cd changer, I noticed a bit of water pooled up in the rear center compartment... thats not good... i was searching for leak information pertaining to the rear, but i didn't find anything that seemed to pertain to my problem... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

97 6speed Coupe...

The water is probably 1/2" to 1" deep!! Pooled up right below the cd changer, it could definately cause problems if it's allowed to remain...

Could i punch a drain hole in the bottom? LOL j/k... Wheres a likely point of entry in the back for water? The top is sealed tight, and the windows and whatnot all look great, plus there is no humidity in the cab, and the carpet back there is all dry... it seems to be isolated to just the compartment... There doesn't seem to be any weather stripping between the hatch and the body... is that normal for this car? Please any help is greatly appreciated... if you need more details, please ask me any questions...

BTW, i'm in Washington... keeping it out of the rain is not an option... lol

-Thanks,
Dan

Some people have documented that driving in the rain with a hole or removed wheel-well fender lining can kick up water into the trunk area. Members have removed the rear carpeting to find areas not completely sealed, and had to seal them manually to prevent future leaks.
