Well guys, it is time for me to move again! I am PCSing to Germany. I was wondering if any of you have had to do the same. I will have to ship my vette over. The military will only pay for one car to be shipped and I think the ol ZO6 is the best choice. I am selling my 06 S2000 and my Jeep. Nurenburg here I come, or how ever you spell it!! Anyways, is there any advice for me out there on tire selection. Anyone in a cold place? It snows in Germany and I was wondering about snow tires. I know nothing about this subject. If anyone can help, many thanks!!
Contact MAJ Z06 on here and find GR8WHITE on www.z06vette.com, he's currently stationed in Germany and had his white FRC w/ a 402 sent over there. They can tell you everything you need to know.

Dude, that's exciting, specially the Nurentrackthingy I've moved from Miami to LA 4 times in the past 10 years - make sure you get the best insurance you can get, trust me. As for tires - I would check into what Porsche, MB & BMW use out there, they seem to know what they're doing. Michelin, IMO are some of the best tires you can buy.
I had a 2004 S2000, loved that little thing, its like a toy - but might be a good choice to take to Europe since the streets are very narrow and fuel is very expensive. Keep your Vette here for when you visit or move back. Then again, you have to think about the Autobahn... forget it, take the Vette!
Edit: Cobra4B is right, MAJZ06 can answer these questions with experience.
When I get home I think I will post some pics. I have been a member of this forum for some time now, and I still don't know how to post pics. Every time I deploy (this being my 5th time) you all know I miss my wife, but I will tell you one thing, my 04 Z comes in a close second!!!

I paid to ship my 99 over in addition to my wife's car which the government shipped for free. It was $780 one way from Miami to Zeebrugge in August 2004. Plus I had to pay 100 Euros upon pickup. I went through a company called transar (www.tgal.us) Don't worry about gas prices as you can buy gas on post or get Esso gas coupons for close to CONUS prices. You may want to buy an old beater car when you arrive for the winter. People leaving usually have plenty for sale at less than the cost of a set of C5 snow tires.
