Nobody knows a thing. I am starting to believe they just have no *****.
Status on car as follows. After heavy buffing with cleaner wax, I got the scuff mark out of the CF hood. The fender cleaned up pretty good. Both have minor scratches that I can live with. The headlight assembly is aligined and functioning properly. The nose(front skin) was ordered from Chevy direct. When I recieve it will be sent out for paint. The Z06 grill will have crazy glue applied. I am going attempt the repair myself with the help of a talented friend. I can't live with a carfax blemish and devaluation. Despite the gash which is horribile, its just a skin. I now realize that I am lucky, as crazy as it sounds, it turned out to be the perfect hit, just one body part. Of course I am not sure if there is any clear coat left on the areas that were scuffed.
Thank you all for the replies and support. Once again the brotherhood of this forum shines. God Bless all
Sounds like all is good and I'm glad things are working out. What do you mean you can't live with a carfax blemish and devaluation? Are you saying this because?

Accedited bodyshops report collision repairs to a national data base with your veh #. This is were carfax gets its info. This blemish is what will cause a car devaluation. Even something as minor as a nose skin replacement. Some insurance companies, like Gieco with issue a check for market equalization which is a pro-rata loss of value. I opted not to go this route and eat the cost entirely. Just my choice.
Sorry to hear about your incident but glad it wasn't real bad.
I hear what you're saying about the carfax thing but I wonder if there is a $ limit or severity issue before they make note with Carfax? I've had two situations where I had minor "scrapes" (fence post & corner of garage )taken care of by "high-end" body shops and they did not appear on carfaxes.
