Default GMPP Question

One question to all regarding the GMPP. I bought a 2001 coupe from a BMW dealer. I was digging in the glove compartment and fumbled across the GMPP which was good for 60K and expires in 5/07. So, it's still in effect. How do I get it transferred to my name. The original owner is nowhere to be found. I have his name and address on the GMPP info but no phone number. I checked the internet with no luck. I mailed him a letter today in hopes of a reply. Any possibilities of getting it transferred without his knowledge/signature??? Where do I go from here?
Thanks

It's the PO' option whether or not to cash in the remaining miles/time on the warranty or not. I doubt you will be able to get the warranty transferred without his signature. Then again, I don't know how closely they compare the signature when you mail in the transfer form. I suspect, not at all.
