Default Temp. for electric fans?

Hi everyone, I was stuck in traffic yesterday with my A/C on(Las Vegas Blvd.). I have a 174 temp T.S. and I reached 200 degrees. I got a little worried. when I pulled over to open the hood the electric fans weren't on. At what temp do they come on? Is there a way to lower the temp at which they come on? Thanks

Not to worry. The fans will not come on until you reach around 225 or so, unless you have the AC on. With the AC on, and at a speed of 35mph of slower, the fans will come on sooner, but I'm not certain of the exact temperature.

All is well at 200

200? LOL. You are just fine. You can change the point when the fans come on with an editing program. I have a 160 stat and it still reaches 200 easily on hot days in traffic. Dont worry about it until you start seeing 230's...then you can think about pulling over.

Thanks Guys, I started getting nervous. I overheated my c4 years ago at 62000 miles and ended up just doing the whole engine, but I just got this 2000 and don't EVEN want to get into that.
