Default Z06 + Blower reliability?

I am looking to go to the next level of insanity with my 02 Z06. The engine is 100% bone stock. I use it as my daily (only) car. I am considering a s/c, not sure which one yet. The question I have is this; will an otherwise stock LS6 hold together with a supercharger over the long haul? I didn't want to hijack the thread about valve springs, but is this something I should really be worried about?? Thanks in advance.

The only thing adding the maggie hurt was my wallet.

Just make sure you get a good hood (motor city mold!) as you are gonna have to look over the top of it.

Also, if your gonna do anything like this to your motor, do the springs.

Cheap insurance.

The secret is in the kit, the tune and the install and that is why i went with ECS complete D1SC blower kit (right b/f they came out with the NOVI) and that is why i had a top tuner local to me in chicago, FLP, do the install and tune.

After 3400 miles i have not even thrown a code and my set-up has been very reliable. The key is not to get to greedy and i shift when i making between 6 to 8lbs of boost, as this seems to be the consensus where the stock LS6 motor may live a while on boost, assuming good tune, etc. I run ALKY also not to make more power, but only for an extra safety measure, as I would rather run a little rich and lessen my chance for detonation, even if it means i make less power, in case i get a bad tank of 93 octane, etc. Of course, figure on a new clutch also and so far my stock springs have been fine and no reason to swap them out if the motor stays stock like mine, although i am now seriously considering swaping to a dual spring for piece of mind and extra protection of a dual spring in case a spring breaks, now that i have 23K miles on my stock LS6 motor!

Is the motor going to live as long as stock, NO DOUBTFUL, but if you play it smart is should last a long time but never any GUARANTEES and the more you push it the greater the odds for failure!!

HOPE THAT HELPS and i highly recommend the ECS NOVI blower KIT for you running no more than 8 lbs on your stock LS6 motor!!

I have A&A p1sc single intercooler kit on my 01 z06, It put down 522.1 hp at fastchips with 5 psi. Everything on the car is stock but the blower.

btw: only problem i am having is I dont think the clutch enjoys that much hp

Lingenfelter installed my intercooled maggie back in April of 2004 and it has been maintenance free for 2 years.

If I were to do a supercharger on a stock bottom end I would go with the Maggie. Intercooled it will make ~500 rwhp and you will have 400 ft\lbs. of torque at 2k RPM's. I wouldn't bother going with the other Supercharger setups unless you plan on going forged in the near future and want a higher HP setup. Otherwise those systems are overkill and you don't have the advantage of a torquey low end as with the Maggie.
