Do you know this exhaust?
I have an (older) aquaintance who owns a muffler shop. (He helped me install side pipes on my C4). While there, he says "You should have bought my Borla setup for a Vette. It was a joke, but I humored him and looked at it.
The system is a slightly used Borla system that the prior owner dumped in lieu of a quieter setup. When I told him I knew of a forum where he might be able to sell it, he said O.K. -- especially after I volunteered to post it for him. When I pressed him for what year it fit, he said a 1999. But he could not name the model. I'm posting a couple of pics to see if it can be identified. If so, please suggest a fair asking price for this setup.
Before selling it, I want to confirm it's really for a C5 so no one gets mad at me if he's wrong (and I helped)!
Thanks!

if that fits a c5 looks like the muffler would be were the stk h pipe would go. and where the heck would the rear pipes mount to??? the slip fits do look like how the c5's pipes run thru the tunnel!! the welds look kinda home made.

XR1. I think we have a winner! As for the comments about age/abuse, I might disagree. Most people don't get under their car and see what exhaust looks like even after a year!
Plus, there was no attempt to clean/dust what you see.
FYI: I just removed my C4 rear "Y" and it LOOKED worse after 20k miles. The stainless parts cleaned up really well though. Since this XR1 system is stainless, it would probably look fine with a little steel wool.
Would you think $400 would be a fair price? (Since it sells between $800-$1000)?
Edit:
The original pics were replaced with new ones. The system was cleaned to remove hand prints, oil, dust, etc... Compare the pic above to post #1. Most of what you see above is prints/oil/dust which accumulated during removal.

where do the rear pipes hang from with this set up??
my sorsa's are mounted back by the rear facia. this looks like it would hange from closer to the axle some where or else the tips would stick out a mile.
if this is a correct system my friend with an 04 cpe might be interested. he wants louder exhaust but does not want to pay the $$$ for the new corsa's

They mount up the same way a CORSA setup does, you just don't have the same muffler setup. CORSAs and other system have two mufflers or catbacks and this BORLA XR-1 only has the one centerline setup. Th emuffler is in front of the rear suspension and the straight pipes run over the rear suspension and straight out the back.
I don't think they are "LOUD" but they are very aggressive at WOT and sound like a jet plane taking off.
