Default Retractable Hard Top

Question: withstupid:
I belong to a corvette club in central California.
A member drove up in a very nice RED Z06 with
a retractable hard top: cool: .
This must be after market?

Most definitely aftermarket, I'm not sure who makes them though.

There is one or two vendors out there that build these. I would love to do that to mine but at $5000 a pop, I'll wait til I hit the loto.

$5,000? I thought it was more like $12,000.

Here's some pics I took at the Texas Motor Speedway Corvette Show. Very nice, but the cost was over $10,000!

If he is a member of your club or even a stranger, just walk up and ask him. I bet he'll be glad to fill you.

I personnaly don't "get" retactable hard tops.
You lose the use of your trunk - you've got to run around with an empty trunk or you can't lower you top.
If it weren't for the Vett's trunk I'd be driving a Ferrari.

Yep - what he said.

Company in Florida was making them.

As a note- if you get one forget about your trunk space (even with the top up). Most of the 'room' will be lost to the 'pumps'.

How about a removable hard top? That's what I meant for $5000.

Slick idea...but gotta have a trunk. Smooth top hardtop for convertables is available for less than 3K before paint.

Would have saved a lot of $ if he just bought a coupe. Can't see spending that kind of $ for a retractable HT.

That one is ugly with the top up. The new Volvo C70 retractable hardtop has an excellent design and you'd never know it was a convertible until the top is down.
