Default aluminum pedals

Hey, I'm thinking about getting some aluminum pedals to match the clutch and brake pedals that came with my Vette. I've seen a bunch of threads about brands and opinions, so I'll have to work through all that to find what I like, but before I do that I wanted to know how people liked aluminum gas pedals? Sometimes when my feet are a little wet, I find that they slip on the clutch pedal. Since this is my daily driver I wanted to see if anyone had problems with the gas pedal before I purchased one. Thanks in advance.

Yea, the stock gas pedal sucks. That was one of my first mods. It's pretty easy to install, just one cotter pin to remove. Kind of hard to get to though. The dead pedal is usually a 3M stick on. Makes the whole floorboard look 1000% better. Good luck. I bought some simular to these and polished them with a dremmel tool before installing them.

I bought my pedals from corvettegarage.com even though they were higher priced. The reason I liked them best is beause the shape of the holes is exactly the same as the stock clutch and brake pedals. Most of the other ones seem to be different. I believe the ones I bought are formed in some sort of sand casting so the texture of the pedals is close to a 100 grit sand paper. The clutch is slippery for me as well but the gas pedal is no problem. Also keep in mind that the gas pedal can rotate and is on a spring so there is movement where as the clutch and brake pedal are solid. Also, my clutch and brake pedals are getting almost shiny from the wear of my feet whereas the new pedals dont have that yet...it will take some time to wear them in or you could take a dremel to them to get that worn appearance.

This is taken from corvettegarage.com since i dont have pictures of my own...

And as you can see, this dead pedal is also held on with allen head screws.

I really like the Elite Engineering pieces. The pin used for the throttle is a threaded pin with an allen head on it - much nicer than the P.O.S. O.E.M. The E.E. dead pedal is not stuck on with double sided tape, it utilizes allen head screws that are drilled through the plastic O.E.M. dead pedal. Check it out.....

High quality pieces and great online install instructions, good prices and free shipping.....how can you go wrong?

Although a bit more effort to install and although double-stick tape will probably hold just fine, I just like knowing that the dead pedal is screwed in and super secure.

Thanks - this is the kind of info I was looking for. I had not considered that the gas pedal rotates with your foot.
