Default Fog light surround

I thought I've read it here somewhere on how to remove the fog light surround and how it will help cool air to go in the engine bay. I have been contemplating on doing this ut as far as I remember, one would need to remove the front bumper to remove the surround is that correct? I have the Z06 screens now so that will probably help bigger debris from getting in the engine compartment if ever I remove the fog light surround -is this correct as well? Third and last question, is it worth it to remove the surround now and let more cool air get in the engine bay but also getting the engine bay more prone to dirt. I am getting the Tigershark kit late this year so I don't know if I want to mess with it right now. Any suggestions?

You do not have to remove the front fascia to access the surrounds. There are eight bolts that hold the lower part of the front fascia to the frame.... remove these to access the five bolts that hold the surrounds on.
I removed mine and then cut out a large area and then epoxied in a screen. it allows fresh air in, and my heat extractor hood allows this forced cold air to push the hot air out from under the hood... its a good flow through system.

But if I remove the surround, it wouldn't have any affect on the fog lights right? I mean the fog lights aren't really attach to the surround. If removing the surround will not increase the dirt being collected in the engine bay, I'll probably just take them off and keep the Z06 screens permanently screwed instead of using velcro or 3M tape.

The fog lights are mounted above the plastic bezel (surround) a 10MM bolt holds them into place.. The bezel keeps dirt and water out of the engine compartment. Removing the bezel will not adversely affect the light operation. If you have screens mounted in front of the bezel now the light output will remain the same.
You will increase air flow and with a stock hood that air will flow out the drivers side gill. The battery surround reduces heat disapation from the passenger side gill. You may collect a bit more dirt and water in the engine compartment. But as you saw in his post E-T still manges to keep his Vette looking better than showroom....
