Installed my Texas Speed Long tubes on Friday night. Man the car is a beast now. I have corsa TOURING too! The great thing about it is that under 2 grand, I have stock driveability just like the normal touring. It is a hair throatier. But as soon as you go above 2 grand and up into the 3500 range---OH MAN it wakes up. Now people are hearing me come before they see me. Then install went pretty smooth with some minor problems. Had to remove the starter and pushed over the steering linkage to fit the headers in from the top. When the install was done we realized that there was no place to put the oil dipstick holder so we ziptied it to a hose to stabilize it. Cut the H pipe and slid the connection pipe right on. Tomorrow we will weld the connection pipe to the H pipe. The HP and TQ is very noticable. Dynoed the car 2 months ago- so looking for possibly 365-370 to the tires- previous-337hp.
I am absolutely doing everything in my power NOT to mod my Vette. Really, I am. All my cars have something performance wise done to them(exhaust, intake, turbo engine swaps, you name it)... If you post pics I might have to jump onboard with my baby.
I would say a 6. If you have access to a lift the job is much easier. We did not. Putting the starter back on was a pain. You need a buddy to help you definitely with this install. Taking everything off the car and preping took like 45 min - hour with both of us on the job. We almost got the headers in from the top but part of the starter was hitting. Then when we bolted on the headers you had to make minor adjustments to get them straight underneath the car. The o2 sensors by the connection pipe was the biggest problem by far. We drilled into the heat shield to make room for them. I pulled a code today about them too--they are getting to hot and might be fried. So we are going to make reinforce them tomorrow. Tuning helped to delete all my O2 codes so that nothing comes up.

I got shorties on my vette. Do you think the cost and labor is worth it for me to go with the long tubes?
No x pipe just the connection pipe and we cut part of the h pipe past the cats so -- no more cats. Surprisingly the gas smell that I smelled when I did this to my mustang is no where near as bad. You only smell it when you get out of the car.

Oh yeah the power gains and the sound difference is amazing. I had shorties on my mustang and the sound changed slightly and I was afraid the sound was going to change slightly when i installed the LT's but it really woke up. Hey I would go for it, nothing is permanent, and someone will always want to buy it from you if you are unhappy.
I just installed mine this past monday, GREAT FIT and GREAT SOUND!
Only took me about 9 hours, no lift, over 2 days time working alone to complete the job, i took quite a few breaks too LOL. Hardest part was cleaning the thread locker off the header bolts and routing the O2 wires so that they dont touch the headers. It can be done you just gotta take your time and do it right.....zip ties help!
And a hint to make the "starter" removal easy. When your ready to install the passenger side header losen both starter bolts but leave one in thats almost all the way out. you just wanna hold the starter up
Then slide the header in until the collector is under the starter and it cant go any further because hte starter is in the way. Then get under the car and take out the starter bolt while holding the header out of the way. DO NOT PULL THE STARTER DOWN!, Instead pop it off the fly wheel and push it UP, while holding it up finish sliding the header all the way in. Once the header is in and past hte starter just let the header collector rest on teh ground or have a buddy hold it out of hte way so you can reinstall the starter. Doing it this way makes FAST AND EASY wok of this part of the install. Bolt the starter up tight then begin bolting up the passenger side header.
another tip for anyone using the connection pipes. If your doing the job without a lift dont unbolt the hpipe section from the mufflers. If you leave this connected and unbolt everything else the pipe will lay on the ground and make cutting the pipes with the SawZall super easy.
Im pretty advanced at working on cars and installs, this install was EASYYY. Its only time consuming because of all the steps, but its easy.
Thanks for the write up 2Young. Im hoping mine goes as easy. I'll be in my garage on jackstands, getting the old manfolds out should be easy from what you're saying. Did you permanantly remove the AIR piping? Do you have to block it off? Removing the starter sounds like a pain too. I will follow TripinTaz advice and leave it bolted on but loosely. Did you ever get it dyno'd? Im at 334 rwhp too currently. Be interested in seeing what gains you got.
