Z06 Shocks installed

Just like others have stated, the car handles like it's on rails. I do have the Z06 Sways which I put on last year. The ride is much smother with the new shocks and it handles bumps in the road better. The rear end seems to stay planted even with the GY runflats. I'm very impressed.
The install. I've never installed shocks before. I called one place and they wanted 250.00 just to install them for me. I've had the shocks for a few days and was really dreading this project because I didn't have a clue what I was doing. I read the service manual and read different install guides, but they left me a little confused. Most of them said you needed to remove different suspension parts in order to get the shocks out. That bothered me. Since I'm more of a "look at it" and figure it out kind of guy, I decided to jump in and see what it looked like it would take to change the shocks. Started with the rear ones. I unbolted the top two bolts. Went to unbolt the bottom bolt and didn't have a big enough socket. Ran up to Lowes and got the socket and some heavy duty zip ties. Unbolted the bottom bolt. I'm pretty strong and thought I could compress the shocks. I was fooling myself. lol Got another jack and jacked the suspension up under the shock then used the zipties everyone told me to use. Then I let the jack down under that shock and the shock came right out. Compressed the new one by just pushing down on it and put my zipties on it. It slipped right in. It was really pretty easy. Then went to do the other rear one and noticed the top bracked on the Z06 shock was angled. The top bracked on the stock shocks is flat. OMG, I started to panick. Then I remembered a guy on here had posted his phone # if I had any problems. Couldn't remember who it was tho. So, I got on the forum and found Pewter 99 online. He said he moved his top bracket both ways and didn't find it made a difference. So, I installed the other rear one. I put the thicker part of the top bracket at towards the front of the car. No problem and it didn't take that long. Torqued it all down to specs.
On to the fronts. Everyone said the fronts were harder than the rears. I thought doing the fronts was alot easier. Just held the top of that spindle thing with a pair of chanel locks and unscrewed the bolt. Then unscrewed the two bolts on the bottom. Jacked under the shock, put on the zip ties, out with the old and in with the new.
I couldn't believe I wasn't all cut up(every project ends with me cut and bleeding). Well, that didn't last long. After getting the car down off the ramps and jackstands, I cut the crap out of my finger carrying the jack stands to put them away. Ouch!
Next week I get headers.........Oh, and mom says I can't play on the forum anymore......it costs too much money.
Jeff
Question on the ride....how rougher is it?? I've been thinkin of swapping mine out too, but dont want to sacrifice the smooth ride....
Wat all in total did you do the suspension??....just z06 sways and shocks??...where'd ya get them from and how much they cost??
