Default Speaker Grille Cover Paint?

Has anyone had to touch up or repaint their speaker covers? My passenger speaker grille has something that was splattered on it by the prevoius owner and apparently stained the original Light Oak finish. Any ideas where to get paint for them. I know Ecklers and Mid America make interior dye but I'm not sure that will work on what I believe to be a metal surface. I know it might sound trivial but the stain just bugs me to death. Any ideas?

I did mine with regular spray... been a while now and no issues...

I just hit the grill with 400 grit to break the OEM paint. Nothing too complicated.

Here are the pix...

Hope this helps

I just went by the local Chevy dealer and basicly all they said lots of luck checking with parts houses looking for a match. Absolutely no help there. I'm sure I could go to a auto paint store but they most likely would want to sell me a lot more than I need.

doesn't sound trivial at all. my light oak grilles seem to have a little something (maybe rust?) on them and it drive me crazy, too. I'm thinking about painting them black.

Has anyone priced replacement screens? In the fabulous world of GM they could be $10 or $200

Problem solved. I just ordered spray touch up for Light Oak from Corvettes of Houston. They saved me again! Now all I have to do is figure out how to remove the grille.

I did mine 3 years ago in flat black rust-oleum spray paint. They look great. Their are little tabs that hold the screens in.
