nice mod but what do you do when that screen gets dirty by the radiator? Also, I just can't put an office shelve on my vette. It would just bug me. It's like putting plumbing stuff on the engine.

If you ever look below the AC Condenser collects a huge amount of trash and has to be cleaned ou regularly...cleaning the cold air mod vent is a piece of cake comparing to cleaning the radiator and ac condenser. Like you I am very carefully with using poorly made things in life I believe in using the best products at all time and trust me this "office shelve" will out last most mods you and I will do. Also, for one hundred bucks or so I can always replaced the radiator cover and you are back to square one, however; the benefit/difference is huge with this mod. I do appreciate you view though!

Hi Milkman -

Awesome!

That looks great on there!

I thought it was carbon fiber at firs look, becuase of the reflection off of the condensor on the side of the scoop.

Nice mod - I migh have to consider something like that for the wifes coupe - she has the dual-cone (twin ram) intake on her C5.

best regards -

Nice job. Should notice a difference in how well the car performs.

Cool! I did the same thing for my Z. My only beef is that it gets the engine compartment dustier than usual. Other than that, great mod!

I've been thinking about doing this as well -- how does it affect your engine temp? Does it take away from air to the radiator?

hmmm... wonder if performance would go up and dust go down if the intake hole was a bit bigger and the filter was completely enclosed except for the hole in the radiator cover?

Also, is moisture a problem when driving in inclement weather?

Actually, my engine is running cooler if anything…from the design I think it takes a tad bit of air away from the radiator but nothing to worry about.. I think the opening provides a bit more cold air in the engine bay and can provide allot more depending upon the opening but other issues will have to be considered at that point namely surging etc..

I think you will have to consider issues like surging…that needs to be analyzed in a lab type atmosphere. I wouldn’t want to mess with that.

If you drive in the rain it’s recommended to install a front hood seal I don’t do much driving in the rain to worry about that.
