Default cooling fans

Can the cooling fans, be reprogramed through the onboard computer, to come on at a lower temp. It acts like a scantool to clear codes, or do I have to spend big bucks to do this.... just wondering

You need a programmer or a hayden or Vinci fan controller. Can't do it from the on board stock system.
There is much more to lowering the fans then just lowering the fans.,..you can not lower the fans below the set point of the thermostat. Mnay people here do things to their car because someone told them too and it will on many occassions cost them dearly... there are many good intentioned people on this forum that dont knbow squat about this car, but they think they do...becareful who you listen too.
in my mornings pm's today a guy was told how to fix his door control module, was given bad information and now his electrical system is toast. Now he is asking for my help... I told him in open forum to replace the module, showed him where it was and who to get it from.. he didnt listen.

So are you suggesting to change the thermostat to 180, 160 etc and then reprogram the fans? I've ben interested in lowering the temp from 196f to 180f or so. I've read it is better to run a cooler engine then a hotter engine...do they know what they're talking about?
